Originally built in 1902 by Oscar Hammerstein, the New Victory Theater has gone through many incarnations. Today, the venue is the largest provider of live performance to New York City schools. Through its award-winning education programs, it serves 40,000 kids each year through its season-long school partnerships and through Victory Dance, which provides free dance performances and workshops to NYC kids over the summer. Serving the city in all its diversity, the theater also provides autism-friendly performances, as well as sign-interpreted and audio-described performances.

Yorke Construction is working with The New 42nd Street and the New Victory Theater to renovate four of its public spaces to serve the very unique needs of its audience. The project will transform both LuEsther’s and Lew’s Lobbies into engaging places for families and kids with the installation of interactive activity areas, improved amenities such as updated restrooms, wheelchair-accessible ramping, added built-in seating areas, and a concessions area.
