Originally a 1,900 seat theater, Yorke was brought in to renovate the Lyric Theatre to make it a more intimate viewing experience for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child audiences. The side walls and rear wall of the auditorium were all brought 12 feet closer to the center of the space, and the existing dress circle and balcony were extended to be closer to the stage. All of this structural work was performed in close proximity to existing 1902 historical plaster finishes. Prior to start of demolition, a full existing conditions survey was completed, as well as a large scale historic protection scope, under the supervision of the EDC and New 42nd Street organization.

A new barrel vault hung ceiling system was installed, as well as all new balcony and box fronts, all rebuilt off site in order to expedite the project to meet the extremely tight show schedule. New carpet, seats and custom wallcoverings finished out the space.
